Our Mission

“Saving A Way of LIfe”

The Gulf Coast

Our vision is to utilize the power of music to create an awareness and full understanding of the desperate need of attention to the fishing communities throughout the world. Right now the eyes of the world are focused on the Gulf Coast. Our purpose is to simply represent the collective concern for our coastal communities that depends on the fishing industry. Our goal is to educate people about how this is much like how farmers depend on their crops, the gulf coast fisherman rely on their fisheries like a mid western farmer depends on corn, wheat or soy bean.

All proceeds from this Global Fish Aid Event benefit the Destin Charter Boat Association (Captains, Mates, & Deckhands)

Destin, Florida natives, brothers Kevin and Kyle Ogle are determined to alert the world of the devastating effects of recreational fishing bans in the Gulf Of Mexico.

NOAA fisheries recently closed off fishing for many of the major sought after species such as Red Snapper, Black Grouper and the Greater Amberjack.  Although some Gulf waters are open for commercial fishing, recreational fishing has been curtailed by the fishing bans. The brothers formed Global Fish Aid to raise funds for the Destin Charter Association, to offset losses incurred by charter boat captains, on one of the world’s greatest resources, The Gulf of Mexico.

“We just couldn’t sit back any longer and not take action to counter what’s been happening to the fishing industry in this area,” said Kevin Ogle, organizer. Global Fish Aid will benefit from The Crab Island Shootout September 25th at Crab Island, Destin with an exciting fishing tournament beginning at 6am in the morning and followed by on the water entertainment by local bands and talent.”

Presenting sponsors are Dread Clampitt, Coastal Angler Magazine and 30a Television. Various other level sponsorships are available by calling Brandon Ward at 850-699-0052. Other bands providing entertainment are Heritage, Forrest Williams and Erin Mitchell. Aloha Pontoon Rentals will run a shuttle to Crab Island every 45 minutes from AJ’s at Destin Harbor.

In jeopardy is one of the most popular areas for recreational fishing in the United States with nearly six million saltwater anglers, taking over 45 million fishing trips each year, fishing for red drum, spotted seatrout, sheepshead and red snapper among others. Recreational fishing contributes $41 billion dollars in economic output in the Gulf Coast region annually and supports over 300,000 jobs. Recreational fishing serves as the economic backbone for many coastal communities surrounding the Gulf of Mexico.
